Few Irish folk bands had the intense fire in their bellies that The Bothy Band did-and never did it heat up more than on their debut. This was their only LP with Donegal's Tommy Peoples on fiddle; his electrifying work is heard on the Butterfly; Julia Delaney; Do You Love an Apple; Patsy Geary's/Coleman's Cross, and more songs, jigs and reels!/5(28).

The Bothy Band [LP] The Bothy Band I love it! A beautiful album. "Do You Love An Apple?" has been stuck on disesenhesupney.keiswatzenbanpcotirijabarwhetssecoun.co favorites include "Pretty Peg", "Julia Delaney", "The Butterfly" and "Hector and the Hero". A must for fans of Irish music. you really need to hear an entire album, and this first one is a great start, although /5(28).

The Bothy Band added a drive and percussive sound that has come to be identified with Irish traditional music -- indeed, many people who only know the more modern bands and artists such as Lunasa and Altan are almost shocked to hear the pure-drop stuff now, as it generally has no accompaniment like guitars or bodhrans or basses or such/5(26).
